Allianz Conducts Kaagapay Program to Strengthen Families in Lipa

Lipa City, Batangas — In partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Philippines, Allianz PNB Life Insurance conducted the Kaagapay Program in Lipa last September 1, 2022.  The Kaagapay Program aims to teach financial literacy and aid families with microinsurance, and their first run was for select communities in Lipa, Batangas.

Participants of the Family Strengthening Program, mothers from the children’s village in Lipa, and residents from other nearby communities attended the seminar on financial wellness and literacy. Topics include saving money, approaches to loaning money and paying debts, budgeting for the family, and many more.

In addition to the financial literacy seminar, the participants get P25,000 worth of microinsurance each. Not many people know about the benefits of insurance and financial literacy. Through the Kaagapay Program, families from the Family Strengthening Program and from nearby communities will have more means to invest in their children’s future and prepare for emergencies.

Participants from the Family Strengthening Program and nearby communities line up to confirm their attendance.

One of the benefits of having insurance is having a backup fund in case of emergencies or accidents. As Aling Eleazar*, one of the participants in the program, said: “In case something happens to us, at least my beneficiaries will still receive something from Allianz.”

The Kaagapay Program’s target audiences are the participants of SOS Children’s Villages Philippines’ Family Strengthening Program, and the mothers in the children’s villages. More sessions like this will be conducted in the other children’s villages and their respective communities in future.

"One accident or medical emergency can change everything for families who live paycheck to paycheck. This is why we're grateful to Allianz and their Kaagapay Program for providing financial protection to the most vulnerable families in the community. The microinsurance and financial literacy session will surely help them prepare for emergencies and their future."
