Cess has a special connection to the organization, most especially, in seeing firsthand the power of care and shared responsibility for the best interest of the children and youth who have lost parental care and are at risk of losing it.
“When you work closely with SOS Children’s Villages, you witness how love and support can truly change a child’s life. That experience stayed with me,” Cess shared.
Wanting her husband, Michael, to see what once inspired her so deeply, she introduced him to the mission. And it did not take long for Michael to feel the same conviction.
“My wife has worked with them in the past and wanted to show me the belief that children are important and we need to do what we can to help them have happy and healthy lives,” Michael said.
He was especially moved by the children’s resilience.
“Seeing them trying hard given all life's hardships… I am happy to know we are helping make a difference,” he shared. For him, giving is also about gratitude.
As a couple, Cess and Michael believe that every child deserves a safe and loving environment to grow up in. And to the children they support, the couple offers a simple yet powerful message of hope:
