Allianz Conducts Kaagapay Program to Strengthen Families in Lipa

September 19 2022 : 

Lipa City, Batangas — In partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Philippines, Allianz PNB Life Insurance conducted the Kaagapay Program in Lipa last September 1, 2022.  The Kaagapay Program aims to teach financial literacy and aid families with microinsurance, and their first run was for select communities in Lipa, Batangas. 

Game, Set, Match - Playing to Teach

Engaging in sports is important to a child’s development. For almost everyone, it improves health and physical abilities, and for some, it builds confidence and self-esteem. But most of all, engaging in sports opens opportunities in life. 

Many of our youths who participate in sports have shown interest in rugby when it was first introduced to some of the villages. Some of them intend to pursue a coaching career in rugby in the foreseeable future. Needless to say, engaging in sport has sparked inspiration in some of our youth. 

A Dream so Close, Yet so Far

Every child who lived in and left SOS Children’s Villages Philippines have been told this by their mothers and mentors. Finishing your studies opens up possibilities for a brighter future, cliché as it sounds. 

Mayang is one of many children who forged their future with the education they have. Her education helped her create and realize a deep-seated dream in her youth. With everything she learned and worked hard for, she wanted to share the blessing and support SOS had given her. 

SOS Children’s Villages Philippines Awarded a 2022 PayPal Grant to empower women in Family Strengthening

Muntinlupa City, August 12, 2022 – SOS Children’s Villages Philippines, a nongovernment organization dedicated to providing long-term alternative care to neglected and abandoned children, is pleased to announce that PayPal has selected the organization to receive a Community Impact Grant of $20,000 to continue their important work in socially and economically empowering women in our Family Strengthening Program (FSP).

In this article, I am sharing my takeaways from the 2022 Summer Youth Camp. The camp's theme was "Kinabuhi ug Kadasig, Kaya Nako Ni!" which translates to "Life and Motivation, I Can Do It!"  

The camp aimed to uphold courage, resilience, and teamwork among the youth. Before I begin, let me give you a brief background about summer youth camps.
