How SOS Philippines answers?
A recent study by an ADB economist showed that the increasing demand of food supply and rising food prices have enormous impacts on most Filipinos these days.
“To provide assistance to these children is not only about giving them the basic necessities of life. When we help these children, we make them understand and feel what concern, generosity and charity is all about. And what they experience, hopefully, becomes part of who they are.
"This is the Philippine homepage of SOS Children's Villages, the world's largest child welfare organization. With your support as sponsors and donors, our organization can provide new families for Filipino children in need.
Our main role is helping children whose parents are not there for them: orphaned, abandoned, neglected children, and children in extremely difficult circumstances. We also run family strengthening programs in communities to prevent child abandonment."

59th SOS DAY
June 23 is an important day for SOS Children’s Villages around the world. This is the day when Dr. Hermann Gmeiner, our beloved founder, was born hence called the SOS Day. This year, here are the celebrations of some of our Children’s Villages here in the Philippines:
As typhoon Frank (local name of Fengshen) hit Iloilo City and its provinces, Zarraga, where SOS Children’s Village was located was no exception. Strong winds and heavy rain continuously struck the village which uprooted some of its trees and plants.
The calling to provide tender love and care to the less fortunate children in the Philippines has grown pervasively because of the status of living of most Filipino families. But SOS Children's Villages Philippines continuously respond to this challenge with its growing programs catered to the needs of these children.
SOS Children’s Village Davao recently received the highest and prestigious award as the BEST NON-GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION in Region XI. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recognized SOS Davao’s continuing work for children. The award was given on the occasion of the 57TH DSWD ANNIVERSARY held on January 28, 2008 at the DSWD Seminar Hall in Davao City.
